Guitar Notes Master is aimed at the Guitarist who wants to understand what you are playing, allowing you to improve and expand your skill set in the process by doing so. I started out in much the same way and learning by repeating patterns as opposed to actually knowing what notes I was playing and what relation they had to each other, as as most music does...they are! and what a difference it makes.

This is a piece of software (like Riff Master Pro) which contains step by step lessons on learning these essential tools of the trade.

Guitar Notes Master encompasses a nice range of learning; from the basics of the open strings to the much more complex (and flashy). - The Note Names on the Fretboard, Pentatonic Scales, Seventh Arpeggios and Chords, Blues Scales, Harmonic and Melodic Minor, Phrygian Dominant Mode, Whole Tone and Diminished Scales and others.

Using this it teaches you a little theory first by allowing you to practice virtually, even before actually playing and by completing various "Practice modules" at the end of a section you are tested on what you've just learnt, helping you take it all in. By doing this of course it encourages you to actually learn the notes rather than pattern learning through repition, a very good concept.

Another good module is the "Guitar Module" which once the learning and understanding has sunk in, is to then get creative and select a pattern, scale or chord which you might want to learn and generate your very own tablature that you read, learn and print off for the future. In a nice addition.
